Understanding Trauma - What to do for yourself and others
Trauma “. . . is not the story of something that happened back then. It is the current
imprint of that pain, horror, and fear living inside people.”
Bessel van der Kolk,
The Body Keeps the Score
As a society we are beginning to have crucial discussions about mental wellness, better understand the meaning of trauma, and have gentler and more effective tools for our individual, family, and collective healing. As Maya Angelou said, “When we know better, we do better.”
This session is for you if you suspect you have challenges rooted in unresolved trauma or you are concerned about a loved one. Leave the session with:
An understanding of trauma related terms.
A sense of events, conditions, and situations than can infuse trauma.
Signs that you are, or a loved one is, living with trauma.
First steps to healing for yourself.
What to do for others.
