MCC Microlearning Series - Understanding Adolescence Development

2023-03-27 Microlearning Series - Understanding Adolescence Development

Understanding Adolescence Development

Online Workshop
“Adolescence is a border between childhood and adulthood. Like all borders, it’s teaming with energy and fraught with danger.” Mary Pipher

What’s typical about the teen years--changes in eating habits, extreme mood swings, withdrawal from friends and family, loss of interest in activities, excessive sleeping or trouble sleeping, anger, disrespect, irritability, difficulty concentrating, decline in school performance, self-harming, and/or substance abuse? Some or all these challenges may show up. A basic understanding of why and what to do is important for the adults who are charged with guiding our youth.

You will:
⦁ Better understand the physical, cognitive, social, behavioral, and psychological changes that naturally happen during adolescence.
⦁ Gain insight into adolescent anxiety and depression.
⦁ Develop compassion for the youth in your circle.
