Writing with Wisahketchahk: Trickster Tales and Creative Writing Prompts
In this workshop, we'll look at the Wisahketchahk stories recorded by Leonard Bloomfield in the book "Sacred Stories of the Sweet Grass Cree" (available online) and other trickster tales, exploring various kinds of creative activities that can turn readers into writers, helping students to engage more deeply with the stories. We'll try some microwriting like 6-word stories and 36-word stories, along with different ways of re-telling trickster tales for new audiences. To learn something about 6-word stories, you can take a look at the 6-Word Story presentation from earlier this month: https://padlet.com/laurakgibbs/maskwacis6
