Searching MedlinePlus for Health Information
A free service of the world’s largest biomedical library, MedlinePlus offers high-quality online health information geared toward patients, their families and friends. We will look at this valuable resource, including its section on American Indian and Alaska Native Health, and share some tips for getting the most from it.
Presenter:
In his role with the Network of the National Library of Medicine, George Strawley, M.L.I.S., works on funding and training aimed at addressing health disparities through reliable health information. He works for NNLM's Region 4, which serves the Intermountain West and the Dakotas. With library experience in both public and academic settings, he is now based at the University of Utah Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library. George is a non-Native of colonizer ancestry who is grateful for the opportunities he gets to learn from indigenous cultures.
