The Book Vault: A Little Library with Big Ideas
The state of library services in Alberta correctional centres and what one organization is trying to do about it.
Presenter:
Camille Bultena holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Concordia University of Edmonton with a major in English Literature, and is currently working on her MLIS at the University of Alberta. She works as a Correctional Library technician with NorQuest College on the traditional lands, referred to as Treaty 6 Territory and the homeland of Metis Region #4, home to many diverse groups of Indigenous peoples including the Cree, Dene, Blackfoot, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, Inuit, and Métis. She acknowledges herself as a beneficiary of Treaty No. 6. which encompasses the traditional territories of numerous western Canadian First Nations as well as the Métis people who have called the lands home since time immemorial.
