Elderly individuals possess a wealth of knowledge and experiences accumulated over a lifetime, making them valuable resources for enhancing our resilience in the face of life's challenges. Through engaging discussions, case studies, and practical strategies, we delve into the benefits of connecting with older adults and learn how their unique perspectives and coping strategies can shape our own resilience journey. We also highlight the significance of intergenerational connections, storytelling, and intergenerational mentoring as powerful tools for fostering resilience. Presenters

Rustica Tembele
Rustica is a distinguished social innovator, renowned for her leadership in mental health awareness and strategic implementation of intervention programs. With a passion for uplifting communities, she excels in stakeholder communication, driving buy-in for program visions aligned with organizational missions. Rustica seamlessly coordinates logistics with local government authorities for successful district-level implementation. Before co-founding TEWWY, Rustica enjoyed a notable career as Director of National Response at the Tanzania Commission for AIDS (TACAIDS). She oversaw non-medical HIV/AIDS programs and provided technical oversight to implementers across the country. She also managed regional facilitating agencies under a $70M World Bank-funded multi-sectoral AIDS project. Rustica's expertise extends to consulting for KfW Development Bank, assessing women's perception of and willingness to improve sanitary facilities. She contributed as a Guest Speaker at a regional seminar on HIV & AIDS and Gender, engaging participants from ten African countries. As a senior advisor at GIZ/Evaplan, Rustica coordinated meetings between Civil Society Organizations and Tanzania National Coordinating Mechanism representatives. With a Master of Arts in Women and Development Studies from the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague, Netherlands, Rustica combines academic excellence with extensive professional experience. Her accomplishments and dedication solidify her reputation as a highly qualified and respected leader in her field. 

Neema Tembele
Neema is a dynamic professional passionate about maximizing organizational impact through partnerships and resource leverage. As a strategic leader, she drives program design, secures funding for school- and community-based projects, and inspires others through her openness about personal struggles with depression and anxiety. Before co-founding TEWWY, Neema excelled in the education field, implementing evidence-based programs for students with dyslexia, ADHD, or autism spectrum disorder. Her guidance in over 100 intensive literacy interventions enhanced reading and comprehension skills in Washington, DC public schools. With a background in business management and a fervor for social entrepreneurship, Neema works with FundEd Strategies to support schools, education nonprofits and small to mid-sized organizations start, scale, and sustain their fundraising programs. She designs, defines, and manages key operations infrastructure including the company’s systems, policies, and procedures. She also provided consulting services to improve efficiency and effectiveness for diaspora small businesses. Neema holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Maryland, showcasing her strong educational foundation and analytical acumen. Her diverse skill set and unwavering dedication make her a valuable asset in driving positive change.
